This is a fruity and spicy flavored brew that is a favorite in Germany. It is normal for this beer to have a remarkably cloudy finish. A liquid yeast strain accompanies the recipe in order to replicate the true flavors of a traditional hefeweizen.







German Hefeweizen
1 Can Whispering Wheat Weizenbier HME
1 Can Pale Export UME
1 Pouch Wheat Liquid Yeast
1 Packet SAAZ Pellet Hops
1 Muslin Hop Sack

My Optional Ingredients
1/2 Packet Booster

INGREDIENTS: MALTED TWO ROW BARLEY, HOPS, HOP EXTRACT, WATER, AND YEAST (Under Lid).

Fermentation, Carbonation And Conditioning Times:
21 days for fermentation
21 days for carbonation
28 days minimum conditioning at 50-70F
02 days minimum in fridge

Fermentation: 01-May/22-May (68-76F)
Carbonation : 22-May/12-Jun (68-76F)
Conditioning: 12-Jun/03-Jul (50-70F)



Brewer's Comments:
This German Hefeweizen really came out good, the liquid yeast and Saaz hops combined to create a highly drinkable beer with good carbonation and golden color. We enjoyed the first samplings with a slice of lemon, it was really good!
